New Welsh language resources for further education colleges

As part of the FE and HE Cymraeg Gwaith project there was an opportunity to develop sector specific resources. Today we have received our Cymraeg Gwaith dice, a pack of 9 dice developed in partnership between ColegauCymru and the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol to create useful everyday sentences for use in Colleges and Universities.

Each College and University involved with the project will receive the dice by the beginning of the September term with the aim of using these as a practical learning resource. By throwing the dice, the learners will need to form various sentences with a workplace focus.

The aim of the Cymraeg Gwaith project is to develop the Welsh medium and bilingual skills of lecturers in the Further Education sector in the workplace for the workplace. With the increase in Welsh speaking children in Wales, we are concentrating on developing staff skills to enable learners to continue with their studies through the medium of Welsh or bilingually in the post-16 sector. An example of ColegauCymru working to contribute to the Welsh Government's goal of 1 million Welsh speakers by 2050.

Keep an eye on our Twitter to form your own sentences, or contact for more information on the Further Education Cymraeg Gwaith project.

There will be an opportunity to hear more about the Welsh language in colleges by the Chief Executive of ColegauCymru, Iestyn Davies at the Welsh Language Commissioner's panel event, at the Eisteddfod on Thursday 8 August, 11:30 am in the Societies tent 2.
