The CollegesWales Principals’ Forum, is a consultative group with a remit to provide a forum for discussion on matters of common interest to FE colleges and post 16 education institutions whom receive funding from Welsh Government. Its primary purpose is to make representations on behalf of its members to persons concerned with post compulsory education and its funding in Wales, to improve opportunities for learners. The colleges represented at the Forum are all subscribers to the charity and have an important role in ensuring that its work is grounded in the provision of post 16 academic and vocational education and training. A key aspect of the work of the Forum is the establishment of guidance to Governing Bodies on an annual pay offer for the FE sector. In social partnership with the trade unions it is responsible for the review, development and monitoring of the FE Common Contract.
The Forum has three sub groups; Finance Directors’, Curriculum and Quality and the HR Directors Network. A member of the Forum chairs each group and its purpose is to advise and support the development of policy and practice.
